Sigulda Tour Highlights
-From Riga city centre, we will drive down the second longest street in Riga – Street of Freedom which is approximately 10 km long and passes by the biggest shopping centre in Latvia.
-On the way to Sigulda you will see why Latvia has been called a country of forests.
-We will drive through Vangazi – a town which was built by Russian prisoners in the 1950`s.
-Before you see the first castle, the guide will show you Sigulda centre and the most popular attractions.
-First stop – Turaida museum reserve:
-1. Visit a wooden 18th century church, which is still open for worship every Sunday morning.
-2. Visit the biggest history museum of the Baltic States.
-3. The main Tower offers the perfect opportunity to take pictures of Latvia's uniquely beautiful wilderness.
-4. Explore Folk Song Park with its 26 sculptures and learn why they were placed there.
-In autumn, taste Latvian apples which grow in the park.
-Next stop – Gutmana Cave, the most visited cave in the Baltic States. You will hear the legend of the Rose of Turaida.

You will also see the open-air stage built in the castle courtyard. And one more: Sigulda New Castle, which was built for Grand Duke Kropotkin in the 19th century and is now the seat of the regional government.
-On the way back you will see the only bobsleigh track in Latvia.
-We are back in Riga and if you still have enough energy to explore Riga city, our guide can drop you off at Alfa – the biggest shopping centre in Latvia. A place of many shops, restaurants and cinemas. Explore that!
